The artist has turned her backyard into a garden inspired by recycled water tanks, which she used to cool her children’s rooms while they worked.
In the past year, the mom has worked on projects that include a mural for a local food pantry and a home decor project with her daughter.
She says it is a way to reclaim space for her children and create a little community around their space.
“I love doing these projects and they’re very inspiring, they’re a lot of fun,” she said.
“It’s really exciting to see them being used and being used by other people.”
The mom says she plans to use the tank for her own use next year.
“We’re really excited about it, and it’s been a lot more fun than we thought,” she added.
“For us, this is really our way to connect with the city and the community.
I think it’s really beautiful and we want to see it become more of a community.”
